Kennel Assistant
Hours: Full Time and Part Time Positions available. Weekends and holidays are mandatory.
Expectations: Kennel Assistants are expected to care for our boarding patients. Tasks include cleaning the hospital (mopping, scrubbing, etc.), walking/lifting dogs, taking dogs for walks, and feeding dogs and cats that are staying in our hospital. As we see many patients and boarders every day, doing lots and lots of loads of laundry a day is a must! Experience is not necessary, but applicants must love animals, working with people, and cleaning. Applicants must be self-motivated and detail-oriented.
Veterinary Technician
Hours: Full and Part Time Positions available. Veterinary Technicians are expected to occasionally work hours on Sundays and holidays.
Experience: Applicants must have prior experience or be a licensed Veterinary Technician. For more information on becoming licensed, contact Northern Virginia Community College.
Expectations: Veterinary Technicians are the biggest helpers veterinarians have in our hospital. Among many other tasks, Vet Techs are expected to assist doctors during appointments (take weights, temperatures, and draw up vaccinations), draw blood and process in-house bloodwork, medicate boarders and hospital patients, fill prescriptions, and assist in surgeries. Applicants must love animals and working with people. Must be a fast learner, detail-oriented, and willing to put in extra hours when the hospital becomes busy.
Receptionist
Hours: Full-Time. Hours to be discussed during interview.
Experience: Experience preferred, but not required.
Expectations: Receptionists are responsible for answering all phone calls for the hospital, making appointments, setting up files, receiving faxes, and assisting people in the wait room (among many, many other jobs). Applicants must be neat, self-motivated, and detail-oriented. Must love working with animals and people. Friendliness and maturity are musts. Fast learners and problem solvers work best in this complicated position.
